Hello again: I had been conferring with someone here a few years back - someone who was compiling a digital photo album which included pictures of my father Ed Devenish who served with the Regiment during the Second World War. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to re-contact this individual except hope that he sees this!

My grandfather and my grandmothers brother we're both very proud Hasty Pee's. My grandfather, Allen Soble being a 1939-45 member and my Great Uncle Jack "Porky" Thomas joining them in England and serving everyday with them in WW2 and becoming best friends with my Grandfather (that's how he met my grandmother) then he serving 2 tours in Korea. But I grew up seeing the respect those men had for eachother when they were gathered together again for any reason in the same room. I hope to make friends I can count on like that someday!! Men of the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment...you have made us proud from the fields of North-West Canada to the Somme, Ypes, Assoro, The Moro, The Hitler Line, North West Europe, to the battle fields of today! Thank You

My dad served with the Regiment from 1939 - 1944. He emigrated to Canada from England in May 1939 joined the Regiment in September 1939 and wound up back in England 35 miles from where he started but as a Proud Hasty Pee Canadian! Does anyone remember Doug "Stormy" Knight? He served with HQ company as Sgt medic. Any reminiscences would be greatly appreciated and cherished. Like so many veterans dad seldom spoke of the war other than to say "it was boring"! After WWII he served with the Governor General's Horse Guards until he retired.

My late father (C4193 Pte Charles Borden WALT was a member of the Regiment during WW2 but sadly I never met him. I know that he is buried in Trenton Ontario and now having read some of the Regiment's war time history on this site I should be proud of his association with your exploits in Sicily. On the very remote off chance that one of your more senior members knew my father I would welcome any information that you or they might be able tell me. Thank you and best wishes.

We are adding a new function, "The Regimental Journal - The Plough Jockey" it will soon be operational by clicking on the new button, "Plough Jockey", be patient. The TRJ-PJ, is a great publication, that LCol Don Kernaghan has worked extremely hard, and tirelessly to make it the best Regimental Journal in the Army, you be the Judge. I am sure once you begin to read the Journal, that you will want to collect the hard copies. If so, they will be available in the Regimental Kit Shop. Ray
